Popepocalypse. Popemaggedon. The Pope in Philly.
Yes. Pope frenzy is upon us. After months of buzz, and waiting, and warnings, it's here. Or, he's here, in the United States. Pope Francis began his tour in Washington, D. C., will head to New York, and will end his trip this weekend in Philadelphia, the City of Brotherly Love for the World Meeting of Families.
And his overnight Philly accommodations are down the street... from me.
We've been warned about gridlock and road closures, told to prepare as if we are having a blizzard, you know, buy your bread, eggs, and milk, and stay home.
I received a phone call from my township alerting me that, "We should not be alarmed. There will be helicopters in your neighborhood on Thursday practicing take-off and landing manuevers. Be advised that the Pope may be dropped off by helicopter at least once during his stay."
Awesome. Pope Landings.
Okay. So, if they overshoot and wind up in my yard I will be prepared with my #PilgrimComfortStation stocked with lemonade, cookies, wine, craft beer, cheesesteaks, hoagies, soft pretzels, Tastycakes and charging stations for your social media devices and needs.
Saturday's potential #PopeDrop coinciding with a Super Moon and a Lunar Eclipse just days after the Autumnal Equinox can only mean one thing...
I really hope he parachutes into the 'hood.
